Bay Leaves Benefits
Burning bay leaves in the evening greatly helps me de-stress my mind and get restful sleep. It calms my overactive nerves. Bay leaves have been used as a sacred tool to cleanse one's space, alleviate anxiety/stress and clear negative energy, historically. The compound called linalool contained in bay leaves is known to decrease anxiety. And it becomes airborne when burnt.
I burn them to remove the food smell from cooking and refresh the air in the house.
Another way I use them is to keep a few bay leaves near my door to keep roaches away. I place them in the crack between the wall and the floor. Roaches hate the smell of bay leaves. I have not had a roach in my apartment for years now without having to fumigate often. It really works!
