MY MORNING SKIN-CARE ROUTINE

CLEANSER

With age, your skin tends to be very dry. Choosing a right cleanser is crucial in preventing moisture loss in your skin. Your body produces less oil for skin as we get older.  And using a harsh facial cleanser will further strip oil out of skin. I use foam cleanser only at night.  In the morning, I wash my face with honey.  This step is actually really important, especially for women over 50 like me.  If I overuse cleanser, it will leave my skin very dry no matter how much moisturizer I slather on my face.

I apply a thin layer of honey on my face and massage onto my face for a few seconds and rinse with warm water and finish with cold water.  Honey is natural humectants (Read more here)

TONER

I make my own toner made with rice water and green tea.  Both are excellent for your skin.  I put it in a small spritz bottle and keep it in the refrigerator.  After wash and pat dry my face, I will head over to my kitchen and spritz this toner all over my face and wipe it with clean cotton pads.

This reinvigorates my skin and brightens!

SERUM   Time-Zero

I put on two different kinds of serums before moisturizer.  One is to boost moisture and defend against sun damage.  I use two different serums.  I will take any moisture-enhancing serum and mix a few drops of avocado oil into it (skip this if your skin is not so dry).

The second one I can’t do without at this age is for wrinkles.  For that, I use Filorga TIME-ZERO Multi-correction Wrinkles Serum. Filorga products target wrinkles from 3 different angles – it slightly exfoliates, plumps skin with hyarulonic acid and has botox-like correction.

MOISTURIZER

I use any moisturizer and mix it with sunscreen. For the moment, I am using Filorga TIME-FILLER Absolute Correction Wrinkle Cream. It is expensive but really does the job keeping the fine lines and wrinkles away.  I am crazy about Filorga products at the moment.  I have tried all the expensive brands but have seen the most results with these.

For sunscreen, Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion WetForce Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 50+ is an excellent choice.
